RDM630 New Version And Sniffer Nano V2.0

Produce, by ITead.

The 125KHz RFID reader module – RDM630 had been sold out and we purchased a new batch form our supplier. When get these modules , we are surprised to find that it’s not the same as the old one !

compare

Confirm with the vendor, they said that the RDM630 mini RFID reader module was revised, but they ensure the new module with the same performance as the old one.

What improvement have made in this new RDM630, see the circuit that on the back side :

Now the  new RDM630 work mode is similar to our Sniffer Nano v2.0. This approach has several advantages, so it will be used in more and more mini RFID reader module. We have a post about this working principle , but it’s not all , we will add a new post  introduce the next principle.

The Sniffer Nano v2.0 is finished and will in stock next week, we are making the datasheet for it. The firmware now for Sniffer Nano v2.0 just support UART output. To update the firmware, you can get the Wiegand output or even IIC output. Not just 125Khz, We found that the 134.2Khz RFID protocol is very similar to 125KHz, so just update the firmware , you can get a 134.2Khz reader like RDM660!

We are going to build a new Google code project for Sniffer Nano, and everyone can get all the material from there, you are welcome to join us to improve the Sniffer Nano firmware to make it more powerful.

  1. Gentlemen,
I’ve just received this revised module from your shop. But I wasn’t able to find revised datasheet on your site. Is pin-out of this module same with previous one?
Please advice, I don’t want to damage it.

  2. Hi,
Yes, the new version is the same as the previous one.

  3. Can this part read many tags in a short time without having to present each tag to the reader?

If I put the tags attached to objects in a box, can I just scan the whole box without having to remove each item?
