We have hacked the Seleae Logic Analyzer and found that it’s a CY7C68013A system, we can crack it in our ITDB01 board to make a cheap clone for our sample bus analysis.
Now we find a powerful USB Blaster, it can be used as a logic analyzer, not just the Seleae but also the USBee AX!
This mini logic analyzer is come with the case and the cables. If you want to change it to other mode(Default Seleae) like USBee , you need to open the case and modify the jumpers.
See the Seleae jumper below:
there are two jumper for firmware selection, it means choose one of the three EPPROM for boot up.And choose the I/O selection, it’s the 10 pins of cables connection.
If you want a USBee AX, just modify the jumper as below:
Note that modify the jumper when power off! Don’t make anything when the tool power on. When you use the Seleae or USBee mode, the hardware can be identified as a Seleae USB Logic by Seleae software or USBee AX by USBee software. Now you can spy it on the data bus that you want to analyze.
Below is the USB Blaster setting:
When the hardware be set to USB Blaster mode , it can work as a ALTERA USB Blaster (Clone). You can use it for many CPLD/FPGA programming and debugging.
It’s a nice tool for hobbyist who need to debug their project, expertly CPLD/FPGA/DSP project.
This mini logic will come with case and cables, there are three types of cable in package:
First one is breadboard jumper interface, you can plug the cable with any pins on PCB board.
Second one is the probe cable, it can be connect to more position on your board.
The last one is the 10 pins cable which for USB Blaster. And the package will includes a Type B USB cable.
What’s more? There is a CD in the package, it includes :
- NetFramework – you need to installed it before setup the Seleae and USBee.
- Seleae Logic Setup – the install file and guide
- USBee1.1.49 – the install file and guide
This mini logic will be sold in our iStore, and the price is $49.9.

hello
want to buy one. for oscilloscope how much is analog bandwidth ? (original usbee AX does 8Mhz)
Hi,
It can not work as oscilloscope , just the logic analyzer : )
hello, I purchased the minilogic and downloaded the USBee software, which of the programs will the minilogic run (Data Logger,Dig Freq counter, Dig Freq Gen, Dig Signal Gen, Dig voltmeter, I2C controller, logic analyzer, mixed oscope, oscope, pulse gen, PWM controller, remote controller)?
Thanks
Hi,
The mini Logic just can work as logic analyzer even in USBee software, any other function like data logger, freq counter , oscope can be use with it.
Regards
ITead
For the original USBee AX there is an analog CH1 and CH2 input connector (+/- 10V ) for the scope app.
Is analog input supported in the minilogic as I dont see this connector ?
Hi,
The mini Logic just support the Logic Analyzer function , can not work as oscilloscope !
Hi, does this work with USBee Suite software? http://www.usbee.com/suite.html
Hi,
Yes, it can, but note that it just can use the logic analyzer function but the Oscilloscope one.
I cannot get the device to be recognised if set up as a USBee – I get message that the USB driver is unknown. If I set it up as a Saleae, it does get recognised and works with the software.
I’ve tried this on a W7 and XP system with the same results.
I do have a real Saleae Logic device that has been used previously. Don’t know if this makes any difference.
Maybe you can see the post here: http://iteadstudio.com/iforum/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=369
hello,
I have bought the mini logic and am satisfied.
I know that the generator (USBEE) is not provided (only logic analyzer), but when I run the software do I measure the pulses pinene of 244.
Mimi is the logic diagram of this available?
It is perhaps possible to miss a Klijn adjustments to the generator (limited) use.
thanks
albert
Hello,
Does this hardware support the new Saleae software 1.1.x (cross platform, runs on Mac / Linux as well as Windows)?
Thank you
Not working with the latest Saleae 1.1.9 release on Linux.
Hi,
does this device support firmware upgrade of the Saleae-part with the Saleae-GUI?
Regards,
Chris
This device has trouble sampling above 500KHz. What’s wrong?
